Opticians
Opticians use prescriptions written by an optometrist or an ophthalmologist to fit and sell eyeglasses and other eyewear. They are not an eye doctor and work mainly in customer service, and usually under the direction of an optometrist. Some states allow opticians to fit contact lenses, usually after completing a certification program.
