Storytelling

Rocky Mountains Deaf School

Rocky Mountain Deaf School is a free public charter school in Jefferson County that offers a bilingual education for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. We provide a language rich environment in both American Sign Language (ASL) and English. RMDS provides Toddler Program events every month for families with Deaf and Hard of Hearing Toddlers ages 0-3 years old. During the toddler program, families learn more about what resources are available, meet other families and receive support from the Toddler Program team who are experts, specifically trained in the field of Deaf Education. They have ASL Videos of children books for storytelling in ASL.

VL2 Storybook Apps: Bilingual Apps for Deaf Readers

VL2 Storybook apps provide exciting and captivating stories in both American Sign Language (ASL) and English. Children can watch the story in ASL or start reading it in English. At any point throughout the story in English, children can tap the screen to watch that part of the story in ASL. Children can also touch specific English words to see them fingerspelled as well as being signed in ASL.
