The Outreach Center for Deafness and Blindness at OCALI provides professional development and networking at their many meetings and events. See the list below to learn more about Ohio Department of Education and Workforce updates, testing, assistive technology, best practices, resources, and more for any professional serving children who are deaf/hard of hearing or blind/visually impaired.

Visual Phonics Training for Ohio Educators 8/4/2026 and 8/5/2026 | 8:30am - 2:30pm In partnership with Ohio Deaf and Blind Education Services Statewide Services and Outreach, registration is now open for Visual Phonics training with Abby White. Training will take place virtually from 8:30am-2:30pm on August 4th and 5th. This training is for Ohio educators and is free of charge. Space is limited to 30 registrants, so sign-up today! Requirements for the training:
  • Preference will be given to educators in Ohio
  • Each registrant must attend the full sessions on both days to be considered trained and receive their certificate.
  • If a registrant is not present by 8:45am on the first day of training, their spot will be given to the next registered attendee on the wait list.
  • Each registrant must sign in on their own device and have their camera on for the full training.
  • The sessions will not be recorded.
