MathType Software Training


The BEST Grant in collaboration with the AT & AEM Center, American Council of the Blind of Ohio (ACBO), Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence (OCALI), the Ohio Center for Deafblind Education (OCDBE) and the Ohio State School for the Blind (OSSB) invite educators, support staff, and braille transcribers serving students with visual impairments to attend a MathType training.

Course Description

Using MathType with the BANA template and Microsoft Word is an effective combination for preparing math documents. The primary focus of this hands-on training is learning how to use MathType. Additional options will be discussed for those situations when MathType is not an option. (e.g. long division).

Prerequisite: You must have attended a DBT I or DBT II training since October 2015 to participate.

This training includes the following skills:

  • MathType (overview, shortcut keystrokes, practice)
  • SWIFT and the Word BANA template for Nemeth
  • Word’s Math Autocorrect
  • DBT Math Codes

Certificate
Six and one-half contact hours will be offered.


Materials Provided

A copy of Mathtype software or an upgrade will be provided to each district/agency represented (one copy per district/agency).

The trainings are limited to the first 15 participants to register.
