Transition Introduction to UEB

In November 2012, the Braille Authority of North America (BANA) voted to adopt Unified English Braille (UEB) as an official code for the United States by January 4, 2016. This hands-on training will provide Ohio educators and parents who already have a good working knowledge of braille with the differences between the current braille code and UEB.

The instructor will cover the following in UEB:

  • Punctuation, contractions, and capitalization
  • Typeforms, Grade 1, and numbers
  • Symbols, computer materials, accents
  • Nemeth Code and UEB as friends
