Supporting Learners Series: The Whole Child: Being Engaged

Taking a whole child approach helps us focus beyond solely academics to include thinking about a student’s social-emotional, physical and safety needs. Designed with the whole child in mind, this module will focus on the tenant of being engaged and what that could mean for students with visual impairment.

Participants will:

  • Recognize how being engaged supports student learning using a whole child approach.
  • Describe how to implement strategies to promote engagement within the classroom setting.
  • Identify resources that will help a student with a visual impairment access the curriculum.
