Supporting Learners Series: The Whole Child: Being Healthy

Taking a whole child approach helps us focus beyond solely academics to include thinking about a student’s social-emotional, physical and safety needs. Designed with the whole child in mind, this module will focus on the tenant of being healthy and what that could mean for students with visual impairment.

Participants will:

  • Recognize how students need to be provided with health-related services and how they can be implemented into the classroom setting.
  • Describe resources on how to adapt curriculum around health education and physical education.
  • Identify ways to collaborate with community partners to promote the well-being of students with visual impairments.
